VerifiedNews

A news pipeline that assigns each extracted claim a verification tier, keeping the strength of the evidence separate from how well the claim was reported, so a well-reported claim cannot be upgraded to a true one.

VerifiedNews development is parked, and an open-source release is planned.

VerifiedNews: claims pulled from newspapers into a verified feed

Overview

VerifiedNews reads news at the claim level. A pipeline extracts claims from articles, clusters coverage, and assigns each claim a verification tier within its first week, keeping the strength of the evidence separate from how well the claim was reported, so a well-reported claim cannot be upgraded to a true one. Tiers run from Verified down to Contested, set by checks that include a web search pass on each claim. The same verification design, scoring source reporting quality and claim evidence as independent measurements, carries into company intelligence work on B2B account discovery, where that separation decides what a system may assert about a company.
